05192021-What Will The Day Bring?

Another Day?

What does a new day mean to you? Is it just the start of the Merry-Go-Round that you’re on every day or is it a chance to start fresh with hope and faith in your heart?

Some days it’s pretty hard to wake up with hope and faith in your heart…. I especially need a cup of coffee to get me moving and some mornings even with coffee I slump and grumpily begin the day. I think I may need an attitude adjustment, maybe some of you might need one also.

Adjusting my attitude will take some time and patience, plus concentrated effort. I need to begin focusing every day on what blessings I have and not on what I want or think I need. I must awaken with an attitude of thankfulness for the opportunity to be a part of life for one more day and understand that each day is a gift. So how Do I plan on changing this attitude?

Here are the items I am going to begin using to help change my attitude:

  • Concentrate on being thankful
  • Prayer
  • A Daily Devotion
  • Not allowing myself to become cranky and irritated

I will begin to concentrate on being thankful. I will pray daily for God to help me change my attitude. Through prayer, I will stay close to my God for love and guidance. I began trying to stay closer to God a while back and it has really helped.

I am using a daily devotion to also help me with my attitude. I have shared some of these readings with you in other posts and I hope you have enjoyed them. I find this daily practice very helpful in keeping me focused on staying positive and thankful.

The last item is the toughest, not allowing myself to be cranky or irritated. I have a very short fuse, always had one… but as I get older I think it is shortening, so I must really concentrate on not letting myself get in that state of mind. This will be hard but it will be one of the items I pray about. I have faith that I will be helped to maintain a level head.

I am glad to write that life is getting back to some normalcy. Businesses and Restaurants are beginning to open with fewer restrictions on numbers and masks… we should all be grateful to have these blessings. I realize there is a lot of discussion about Masks when to wear them or not to wear them. I think if we all just do what we are comfortable with and what Science is saying we will be fine. I must admit that I get a little tired of hearing all the misinformation regarding everything from the Pandemic, Politics, and how to live your life that we see on the Internet and Social Media.

I have written some new music which is posted on Soundcloud. You can listen on my Music page. I also began a Podcast in hopes of sharing more interesting thoughts with you all. I am working on getting to Apple Podcasts but currently, it is in Spotify and the link is below.

I am going to close today by sharing the Bible Verse from my devotional in hopes that it begins to help you through the day.

Psalm 9:1

New Living Translation
I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.

So go tell all of God’s wonders and have a great day.

Ramblings-05152021

Well it has been an interesting few days. As some of you know I hurt my right foot and had an MRI last week. The results were reported to me at the orthopedic office two days ago. The results were; Tada…. acute tendonitis of the Achilles’ tendon and tear of the Achilles’ tendon where it joins the heel. Nice huh? They put me in a boot that allows me to do some walking without pain, for at least 3 weeks, then maybe physical therapy. So happily I can now walk a little and my wife doesn’t have to climb stairs to bring me anything or help me doing basic functions. I hated seeing my wife going up and downstairs with food and whatever. We live in a split and I was pretty well locked upstairs with the cast on my foot. But a new chapter begins now that I can move.

Stay Close

In the Devotional I shared in an earlier post this morning we were thinking about how we cannot be separated from God’s Love. In Romans 8:35 we read:

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[a]37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I hated being separated from my wife at mealtimes and during the day. I always enjoy Judy being together and when we couldn’t be together that was trying on me…..however we still were tied through our love of each other and desires to be close. Just as Paul teaches us here in Romans that nothing, no matter what we go through today, can separate us from God’s love we should never forget that God’s love is always present and we are never truly alone. I encourage you all to draw closer to your God today.

More music is on its way. I finally have the Pocket Operator connect to the computer so some new synthesized sounds will be forthcoming, Maybe this week we will get some new sounds out….. Don’t forget to try out my new Podcast…. it comes out once a week. We talk news, music etc…. hope you enjoy it.

Well I hope you are blessed today with health and safety…..Thanks for reading along.

Well today we go for the MRI of my foot. I hope that the doctors won’t find too much wrong.

Yesterday we got to the office, thanks to my wife, and were able to begin uploading some new music for you. I hope you enjoy the new music I have prepared.

So to add some salt to our wounds during this Pandemic, we now have a major hack of the major pipeline carrying gas to the south and northeast…, already there are gas stations without gas… my my what else will happen. I am beginning to understand that we need to stay close to our God to remain in a positive state of mind. So with that in mind here are some scriptures to help us all through the days ahead.

Psalm 73:28

But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.

John 14:1

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.

I hope these verses help you as they help me. May your day be one of blessings and hope. Stay well, stay healthy and do good!

I haven’t written lately because I have been busy getting COVID shots, taking care of family stuff and just being plain lazy at times. Between the Pandemic that still moves and shapes our daily lives and believing in erring on the side of caution is the way to stay well, we don’t go too far but enjoy our time together. I still say to my wife a lot, “where did the day go?”. Our days are really busy regimented, between dog walks and taking care of a house and property.

So our lives are fairly mundane…. but are happy.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you Mother’s out there and I don’t mean it the way it sounds! I think the Mom’s of this world are the best and have in a lot of cases felt the brunt of this pandemic. We plan on having our small family together outdoors for a while today.

Happy Mother’s Day

Why did I decide to write today? I usually write when I have something to say or share. Honestly now I am stuck in the house with a cast on my leg…. possible ruptured Achilles Tendon on my right foot. I will require an MRI to determine what is next…. hopefully I can get an appointment tomorrow. We will follow through with whatever comes our way. But for now I am staying on one floor of the house and writing on my phone. I thought I would write and share my thoughts about this part of my journey, Frankly being able to just sit and think and write is kind of nice……, unfortunately my beautiful wife is stuck walking the dog and doing those things that would do but thankfully I a blessed with a beautiful, caring wife of almost 50 years….yea I am that old.

Since my life is mundane at this point let’s turn to the world around us. What has happened since I last shared with you.

  • There have been six (6) mass killings in the US since 4/18/2021….. 9 killings just over the weekend.
  • More people of color have been killed by local authorities.
  • The Violence against Asians continues
  • People don’t want to get vaccinated
  • A major pipeline for gas supply to the east coast of the US is closed because of computer hackers…..

Those are just a few of the newsy things that have been going on since I last wrote. It is a great world/country we now live in….. No one thinks we have a problem with guns, it is ok to say what you want about anything and not worry about the consequences….we have conspiracy theories still running rapidly through Social Media. Vaccinations are slowing down, people are still getting shot at….Ugh very disturbing to the Retired IT Guy and Musician.

As I said in my last post I have been trying to get closer to God these days….it helps me deal with the frustration I feel for our world. I thought I would share some of my Bible readings in hope that it might help you also.

Jeremiah 17:14

14 Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.

Isaiah 41:10

10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Above are some verses that I hope will give you some peace and aid you in dealing with all that is going on. We can’t escape hearing anything anymore, technology has inundated us, but we can ask God to guide us through these troubled times. I sure believe this and pass it on to you all.

I have written new music and should be on SoundCloud tomorrow. Please enjoy.

Well that’s the end for today. Hopefully I can write again soon

Peace and Blessings
